Alberto Cerritos was born in San Salvador, El Salvador. He graduated from la Escuela de Pintura
de la Dirección General de Bellas Artes de El Salvador in 1967 and from la Academia Nacional
de Escultura Uquxkah in 1970. His small bronze sculptures maintain a direct relationship with his stone monuments through their unity of form and space. From his small drawings to his large canvasses, his work is characterized by a strong and personal symbolism, combined with a new and free sense of visuals. His work has been presented in group and solo shows in San Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico D.F.. Monterrey, Puebla, Oaxaca, Guadalajara, New York, Montreal, Toronto, Chicago, San Francisco, Oakland, Vancouver, Rioja and Changchun. In 1993 he traveled in a cultural Canadian tour to West Africa for exhibitions and painting murals to Nigeria, Cameroon, Ghana, Ivory Coast and Senegal. He has been a member of the Sociedad de Artistas Plasticos Mexicanos (SOMART) since 1987, and of Arts in Action Society from 1989 to 1993. Actually he is a member of (UNARTES) The Salvadorian Society for Artists and Writers as well of (COMAV) The World Visual Arts Council. He represents both of them in Canada. Since 1995 up to date he has been dedicated to develop Digital Art as well to the research and developments of an Aesthetics for the Third Millennium and Complex Art. Alberto Cerritos est ne a San Salvador. Il est diplome de l'ecole de peinture de la Direccion General de Bellas Artes du Salvador en 1967, et de l'academie Nationale de Sculpture de Uquxkah en 1970. Ses bronzes de petit format maintiennent un rapport direct avec ses monuments de pierre par leur unite de forme et d'espace. Dans ses dessins autant que dans ses toiles grand format, son travail se caracterise par un symbolisme personnel et fort, combine a un sens de la visualite tres libre. Ses oeuvres ont ete exposees au Guatemala, a San Salvador, Mexico, Monterrey, Puebla, Oaxaca, Guadalajara, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Oakland, Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Rioja et Changchun. Desde sus pequeños dibujos hasta sus grandes telas su obra se caracteriza por un fuerte y personal simbolismo combinado con un nuevo y libre sentido visual. Sus exposiciones colectivas e individuales cubren San Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico D.F, Monterrey, Puebla, Oaxaca, Guadalajara, New York, Montreal, Toronto, Chicago, San Francisco, Oakland, Vancouver, Rioja y Changchun. En 1993 viajó al Oeste de Africa como miembro de una misión de intercambio cultural desde Canadá para exhibir y pintar Murales en Nigeria, Cameroun, Ghana, Costa de Marfil y Senegal. Ha sido miembro de la Sociedad Mexicana de Artistas Plásticos (SOMART) desde 1987 y de Arts in Action Society (1989-1993). Actualmente es Miembro activo de (UNARTES) la Unión de Artistas y Escritores Salvadoreños asi como del (COMAV) Consejo Mundial de Artistas Visuales a las cuales representa para el Canada. Desde 1995 se dedica al desarrollo del Arte Digital asi como también a la investigación y desarrollo de una Estética para el Nuevo Milenio y el Complex Arte. |
